Hansen Technologies Limited (ASX: HSN) is a global Customer Care and Billing Solutions provider that develops, implements, and supports proprietary software and delivers Data Center, Application, and Implementation Services for the Energy, Pay TV and Telecommunications industries.
Hansen had an internal series of network drives, using our document repositories. We then moved to our own SharePoint hosted environment, until we decided that the best solution for us was the Cloud. All throughout this journey though, we have never had a Hansen’s Intranet experience, which is what we call now ‘HansenNet’. Before that, it was just a collection of development sites for storing documents.
We saw the power of Hansen TV (our corporate communication platform). But yet something was lacking: we couldn’t put any type of small communication on Hansen TV, like people’s birthdays or events. It didn’t work. It wasn’t the right forum for that level of information. We had a gap – also just as a launching pad for our corporate solutions: things like payroll system, expense claims, leave requests.

We were looking for someone who had a broad technical understanding of what they were doing (which was the absolute criteria for us) and for an easy-to-use solution.
As a software development organisation, Hansen Technologies understands what the difficulties are of implementing solutions. We are a tough client to sell into, because we delve into a technical level of detail very quickly. But the guys at FiveP adapted very quickly to what we were looking for: they quickly understood that they had to be more targeted and more directed on what we were trying to achieve.
Support from FiveP was very helpful in regards to technical information, getting it all set up and started.
We wanted a quick implementation to keep the C-level on board. Our expectation was to get something up and running in approximately 2/3 months. It took indeed 2/3 months.
As FiveP was very busy with lots of work when we decided to commence the project, we had to wait quite a bit of time for FiveP to have the resources available. Once we commenced and engaged, we forgot about that little gap. In fact, once FiveP provided a framework, it was a far more aggressive implementation that we were probably expecting it would be and this ended up working out well for us.
It came across well and we also got the management onboard, which weren’t using the tool previously. With the training provided by FiveP, our managers have been able to adopt to the platform and use the site.
Our CEO was very engaged through the process and it didn’t take long for him to realise that this was going to be our corporate platform for communications. He saw the power of the tool, the power of having a corporate experience and how to utilise that through the organisation. He is now a very strong sponsor of the project. He helped with the launching and with the messaging of the launching.

Following the migration, FiveP’s support and training allowed TRY’s staff to embrace the new technology quickly and the timeframe expectations were met.
Staff can already see the benefits of MILO (our new SharePoint environment) and how it will effectively help reach our goal of building a collaborative culture throughout the entire organisation.
FiveP have really understood we have lots of staff and franchisees who are not technical, so the system has been really quick to roll out and easy for everyone to learn. It's great to see the difference it has already made for our business.
One of the important things that resonated with us was that FiveP came to us as a change management
business rather than just a SharePoint business.
I wanted the intranet to be the one shop to stop for information (‘the single source of truth’).
We now have an interactive, graphical representation of our framework that is easy to use and provides the right level of support and project management governance.
The solution implemented by FiveP improves the collaboration and communication with our employees, they can now quickly access the information they need, at any time and on any device.
The CardiNet project won the “CEO Commendation Award for 2014” which was a very proud moment for us. In addition to this, a couple of months ago, the CardiNet project received an internal Quarterly Award.
Throughout the process, FiveP demonstrated leadership and provided timely advice, helping us to understand how the merger of our information assets could be best achieved in a manner which supported our ongoing operations and community commitments.
By engaging FiveP as a SharePoint specialist we were able to plan a controlled consolidation and content migration program of works which simplified our IT landscape considerably.
