The other day I was halfway through a project when a thought suddenly struck me – we’ve been doing this for more than three years now. We as a team at FiveP have now been striving and strategising and seeking those “Kaizen” moments for our clients for three whole trips around the sun. It’s a relatively small amount of time in the grand scheme of things, I won’t argue that. But the gravity of what we’ve accomplished in that time genuinely staggered me.
Our third birthday this year went by mostly uncelebrated, and given the passion our team have put in and everything we’ve achieved over the last three years, that’s something I think needs to be remedied.
The natural starting point for any reflection on FiveP is our ‘why’ – our unreserved conviction that enterprise-grade information solutions shouldn’t require enterprise-level resources. Our belief that technology can be leveraged to level the playing field in ways that simply weren’t a reality five to ten years ago.
When we started in 2013, the leadership team of FiveP knew one thing: we didn’t want to perpetuate the boring, uninspired ritual of traditional consulting projects. The introduction of Office 365 had just opened up the enterprise domain to all organisations, and provided the world a platform that revolutionises the delivery of information management systems. As far as we’re concerned, mediocrity no longer has a place in the information age.
It’s that fundamental core of discontent with the way things were done before that has been the true driving force behind FiveP. That drive has led to the development of our pre-packaged consulting solutions and the FiveP team truly embracing the concept of agility. It’s why we consistently advise our partners and clients to focus delivery on their Minimal Viable Product. And it’s why we steadfastly sticking to this mantra, even to our own detriment at times.
Over the past three years, we have continually innovated and improved how we deliver the knowledge management tools that every business needs. Our only goal is to ensure our clients’ technology investment is focused on solutions that disrupt and give them a competitive advantage. Because the simple fact is that we are now in an era where user experience is king, and solutions need to be accessed anywhere and anytime.
While there’s definitely nothing new in that thinking, the unavoidable truth is that everyone talks a good game, but very few actually deliver. What we’ve come to realise over our three years in operation is that the critical factor to driving enablement is not only ensuring your organisation has the technical capability, but also the design and creative capability. That’s what has set us apart.
So if that’s what has defined the first three years of FiveP, what’s in store for the next three? What about the next ten? Simple.
Our focus will be on ensuring that the we deliver enablement solutions for clients. And those solutions will be driven by user experience, rather than old school methodologies. Nothing more, nothing less.
Our partnership with Yoke will enable our team to build not only technically robust solutions, but outcomes that are focussed on the end-user first. The amalgamation of technical talent with creative vision is what will truly set our solutions apart in the years to come. It’s what will continue to enable delivery of our ‘why’.
We will continue to push the boundaries of what is capable within Office 365, providing solutions that leverage the entire stack. We will continue to challenge our team, partners and clients to focus delivery on real-world requirements. We will continue to provide an environment where everyone has a chance to influence and drive change, including our partners and clients.
FiveP will continue to challenge the established modes of delivering consulting services.
