The companies announced today that Baret’s role-based messaging technology has been integrated with Teladoc’s Solo™ with Teams Virtual Care Platform.
MELBOURNE – 07 May 2024 – Teladoc Health Australia New Zealand, a leader in whole-person virtual care, has announced a strategic partnership with Baret, the role-based messaging solution for Microsoft Teams, at the start of the Digital Health Festival today in Melbourne.
The partnership will integrate Baret’s cutting-edge role-based clinical communication technology into Teladoc Health’s virtual care platform Solo™ with Teams – the first clinical and administrative healthcare solution to integrate with Microsoft Teams – offering hospitals and health systems a comprehensive end-to-end solution for supporting enterprise virtual care.
“For modern care teams working across multiple specialties and sometimes multiple campuses, clinical communication can be time-consuming, complex, and resource intensive,” said Natasha Perry, Commercial Consultant for Teladoc Health Australia and New Zealand. “The Teladoc Health and Baret integration will simplify and streamline communication by providing multidisciplinary care teams with the tools to collaborate quickly and respond to urgent requests efficiently and effectively translating into substantial patient benefits, especially for people in regional, rural and remote areas.”
Improved clinical collaboration in virtual care delivery through the integration of Solo’s superior audio/video experience into the Baret application not only increases workflow efficiency by simplifying daily routines, but also enables healthcare teams to dedicate more time and attention to delivering high-quality patient care all through the Microsoft Teams platform. This means that patients can receive the same level of care regardless of their geographic location.
With its dynamic directory system, Baret provides care team members with real-time knowledge of who is clocked on based solely on knowing their role and can automatically route messages based on conditions of availability, location, coverage, and more.
“Virtual care providers are often spread across different locations,” said Jane Prowse, Chief Technology Officer at Baret. “However, traditional methods of finding out who’s doing what, like calling switchboards or checking on-call rosters, just don’t work when scaled across multiple healthcare locations. This is where Baret’s role-based messaging technology really shines by ensuring healthcare professionals can contact the right person at the right time is a key element of seamless virtual care delivery.”
The partnership between Teladoc Health and Baret will allow data to flow seamlessly from one system to another, both of which leverage Microsoft Azure infrastructure. It’s also highly intuitive for existing Microsoft Teams users and will help to support continuity of care in a secure, auditable, and compliant way.
Dr Simon Kos, Chief Medical Officer of Microsoft Australia New Zealand, emphasised the importance of innovation in virtual care. “I am thrilled to see this partnership come together and drive even more healthcare innovation on the Microsoft Teams platform. Teladoc and Baret will be a powerful combination for health organisations: A unified platform to address their virtual care needs across the entire care continuum and reduce the disparate systems that result in care fragmentation.”
