Wilson Security

Wilson Security is a region leading security provider with a 9000+ strong team of security professionals serving Australia and New Zealand. In 2014, Wilson Security acquired the commercial security operation of ISS in Australia and First Security business in New Zealand, which again strengthened their position within the security industry.

Their growth over the past year saw a need to realign and refresh their public facing website as they believed it was becoming ‘tired and stale’. The underpinning technology platform also lacked the sophistication necessary to target mobile devices. In addition, Wilson Security had a desire to utilise more multimedia video and images to more prominently reflect their brand out to the market.

To assist in the journey of re-launching their website, Wilson Security elected to partner with FiveP as their preferred technology provider. Along with assistance from a creative agency, the team set out to completely overhaul the website in terms of structure and content with remarkable results. Catering to the various audiences of a public facing website, the newly branded website leveraged the feature set of the SharePoint 2013 platform. Though typically thought to be more suited for intranets and extranets (in this instance) the team demonstrated how SharePoint could stand proudly alongside more widely used enterprise web content management systems (CMS).

Throughout the project, FiveP worked tirelessly with Wilson Security and the creative agency team to come up with a look & feel for the site that could be adapted to laptop, tablet and handheld devices. Knowing the content would need regular updates after go-live, FiveP provided training and user guides to empower the Wilson Security’s content authors to truly ‘own’ the site. The content publishing framework FiveP developed also provided the right mix of flexibility and content governance, ensuring the content on the site could be readily maintained moving forward without compromising on consistency.

The final result was a highly stylised, dynamic and engaging website that is easy to navigate on any number of devices and browser types. Furthermore, the authoring experience is dramatically simplified as the rendering framework manages all the sizing and responsiveness automatically, leaving Wilson Security content authors able to focus on the words and imagery.
